Senior Java / Kotlin Engineer

Nordstrom’s Learning & Ranking team is looking for a Senior Engineer to build the next level of the search platform. We provide one of the most important aspects of Nordstrom.com – helping customers find the right products at the right time. The product goal is to learn about search results and rank them. All the search data is aggregated by clicks. The ranking is based on how users interact with the products. The team tends to do data validation/manipulation scripts in Python, so there is a chance to learn it if you're interested.

As a member of our team, you’ll be working with a cross-functional group of engineers who live and breathe software. We support what we build, so we take quality seriously. In this team you will continuously learn and use the latest technologies. Btw, we write code in any language that helps to solve Customers' challenges in an optimal way. Right now it's usually Java and/or Kotlin

• Deliver end-to-end quality results and take ownership for the developed solutions

• Work on application, infrastructure, and test code to create bulletproof features that delight customers

• Participate in the maintenance of web-application

• Propose a process change, improvements, or come up with a solution for any of the issues within the team

• Drive efficiencies in the system through automation: capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring, and root cause analysis

• At least 4+ years experience with Java and/or Kotlin

• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, Rest API

• Good spoken and written English

• Experience with building cloud-native software

• Experience in e-Commerce products is a big plus

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka (Confluent, Schema Registry, etc.)

• Experience with Redis, ElasticSearch, K8s, Docker, Python, Splunk
