Our client is a leading U.S. fashion retailer, offering apparel, footwear, beauty, and home goods. It operates 350+ stores and robust online platforms, combining in-store and digital experiences.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and support scalable systems powering Supply Chain services and warehouse management solutions. You will work on complex, high-impact problems and contribute across the full software development lifecycle.

  • Create frameworks to solve multiple business problems

  • Responsible for leading design and architecture on projects, write great code

  • Leads & inspires engineers within the team through design and execution

  • Takes ownership of solutions, systems, or designs that span multiple teams’ work, breaking work into smaller tasks for more junior engineers to support.

  • Influences design within and across teams for projects by providing guidance on software design, development & industry best practices

  • Diagnose and remedy performance or security issues  

  • Facilitates cross functional troubleshooting, root cause analysis

  • Surfaces potential design or delivery conflicts in the current product cycle and makes recommendations on the best options.

  • Demonstrates expertise in industry standards for secure development practices 

  • Contributes to community projects and engineering standards 

  • Help mentor junior engineers design, develop, and maintain software systems supporting Supply Chain and warehouse management operations

  • Break down requirements into well-defined stories, scope work, and provide accurate estimates

  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code

  • Produce clear technical documentation and design artifacts

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex business and technical challenges

  • Provide on-call support for systems owned by the team

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience delivering high-quality software

  • 4+ years of enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructures, migrations, and technology management

  • 3+ years of experience in leading an engineering team

  • High level of ownership and autonomy

  • Technical leadership experience

  • Ability to manage ambiguity

  • Experience overseeing or coordinating work of others

  • Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot

  • Experience with messaging and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka)

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Kubernetes; GCP is a plus)

  • Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Terraform)

  • Strong experience with test automation (unit, integration, regression, performance/load)

  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Splunk)

  • Ability to design and articulate scalable, well-architected systems
