• Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of our iOS mobile applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

• Set technical direction for the iOS codebase, making key decisions on frameworks, patterns, and tooling.

• Champion and embed AI-native development practices across the product development lifecycle — from AI-assisted planning and design through AI-augmented coding, testing, and release.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to define, scope, and prioritize new features and technical initiatives, leveraging AI tools to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and estimation.

• Mentor and guide iOS engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical coaching, including coaching on effective use of AI coding assistants and tools.

• Establish and enforce best practices for clean, maintainable, and testable code, with a deep, hands-on understanding of core iOS concepts.

• Own the technical quality of releases, including code review standards, testing strategy, and CI/CD practices for iOS, integrating AI-driven testing and quality automation where applicable.

• Evaluate and introduce new iOS technologies, tools, and trends — including emerging AI-assisted development tools — and drive their adoption where they add value.

• Define and iterate on team workflows to incorporate AI-native PDLC practices (e.g., AI-assisted code generation, automated test generation, AI-powered code review, and documentation).

• Act as the primary point of contact for iOS-related technical questions across teams, and represent the iOS team in cross-functional and planning discussions.

• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback for iOS team members.

• 6+ years of iOS development experience, including prior experience leading or mentoring engineers.

• Deep expertise in Swift and Cocoa Touch, with a strong track record of shipping production iOS apps at scale.

• Proven experience in Object-Oriented Programming and software design/architecture patterns (MVVM, MVC, Clean Architecture, etc.).

• Expert knowledge of the iOS SDK and Xcode, including performance profiling and debugging tools.

• Strong experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs, and input into API contracts with backend teams.

• Advanced experience with Git, including branching strategy, code review workflows, and release management.

• Proven track record with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Agile methodologies, with experience shaping team process.

• Hands-on experience integrating AI-native tools and workflows into the product development lifecycle (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants) for code generation, review, and testing.

• Familiarity with prompt engineering practices and using AI tools to accelerate design, documentation, and technical decision-making.

• Deep expertise in iOS frameworks such as UIKit, SwiftUI, CoreGraphics, Core Animation, and ability to guide framework/tooling decisions for the team.

• Strong experience in Unit Testing, including establishing testing standards and coverage goals, and leveraging AI for test generation and coverage analysis.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead by example on technical execution, including adoption of AI-native development practices.
