Test Strategy & Planning
Define and own the manual testing strategy across one or more product areas
Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned to requirements and acceptance criteria
Scope testing efforts and estimate timelines in partnership with engineering and product teams
Test Execution & Oversight
Lead and coordinate manual test execution across functional, regression, exploratory, and UAT cycles
Validate features, bug fixes, and releases meet defined quality standards before shipping
Identify, document, and triage defects with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor a team of manual QA engineers, providing guidance on testing techniques and best practices
Assign and prioritize work across the team based on sprint commitments and release timelines
Conduct code/test case reviews and facilitate knowledge sharing within the QA team
Process & Quality Improvement
Identify gaps in test coverage and drive continuous improvement of QA processes and documentation
Establish and maintain testing standards, templates, and conventions across the team
Evaluate opportunities to complement manual efforts with automation in partnership with SDET/automation teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to understand requirements and surface quality risks early
Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, retrospectives) as the QA representative
Serve as the quality voice in release go/no-go decisions
Reporting & Metrics
Track and report on key QA metrics (test coverage, defect rates, escape rates, cycle times)
Communicate testing status, risks, and blockers to stakeholders clearly and on time
Maintain traceability between requirements and test coverage
Documentation
Ensure test cases, regression suites, and QA processes are documented and kept up to date
Contribute to runbooks, release checklists, and onboarding materials for the QA team
Deep expertise in mobile manual testing methodologies - functional, regression, exploratory, smoke, sanity, and UAT
Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr)
Experience building and interpreting QA metrics to drive process improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when documenting bugs or presenting quality status to stakeholders
Quality-first, client-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to surfacing risk early in the development cycle
