Slack Enterprise+ Migration Engineer
Location:
Other, Central Europe
Seniority:
Lead
Technologies:
Devops, System Administration

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a global leader in the meal kit delivery industry that helps millions of customers cook healthy, homemade meals without the stress of meal planning or grocery shopping.

As part of Zoolatech’s distributed engineering team, you will support a critical Slack Enterprise+ migration initiative. The client is migrating 10,000+ users from Slack Enterprise Select to Enterprise+, with a limited migration window, expected degraded mode, and no rollback option.

This is a high-impact technical role focused on reducing migration risk and ensuring business continuity across a complex enterprise environment. You will own the Technical Workstream end-to-end, assessing Slack apps, workflows, custom integrations, and platform dependencies to identify risks and define the right testing and validation approach.

The role requires strong independence, technical judgment, and operational discipline. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, app and workflow owners, and Slack’s Professional Services team, translating technical uncertainty into clear risk classifications, runbooks, and execution plans.

By joining Zoolatech, you become part of a strong engineering community while working closely with a mature global product organization that values ownership, autonomy, and long-term collaboration.

  • Own the technical assessment and validation workstream supporting the Slack Enterprise+ migration.

  • Assess Slack apps, workflows, bots, webhooks, and integrations to identify migration dependencies, compatibility considerations, and potential technical risks.

  • Review technical documentation and, where needed, collaborate with app owners to understand how custom integrations are implemented and whether additional validation is required.

  • Classify integrations based on migration impact and help define appropriate mitigation and validation approaches.

  • Contribute to the design of testing scenarios, including smoke tests for critical workflows and degraded-mode situations.

  • Prepare clear runbooks and operational documentation to support migration execution activities.

  • Help define sandbox validation activities and support migration readiness testing.

  • Coordinate with app owners and stakeholders to gather context, understand dependencies, and confirm readiness for migration activities.

  • Partner with Slack Professional Services to translate recommendations and guidance into practical validation actions.

  • Communicate technical considerations and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Operate independently in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

  • Deep understanding of Slack platform architecture, including:

    • Slack Web API

    • Events API

    • RTM API

    • Webhooks

    • Workflows

    • Bot tokens

    • OAuth scopes

    • Slack apps vs. legacy integrations

  • Experience working with enterprise collaboration, productivity, or SaaS platforms involving complex integrations, APIs, workflows, and business-critical processes.

  • Ability to identify dependencies, assess potential risks, and recommend practical validation approaches for Slack-based integrations and workflows.

  • Experience creating technical documentation, runbooks, or operational procedures.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and take ownership of technical outcomes.

  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, teams, or application owners.

  • Experience supporting enterprise platform migrations, particularly SaaS migrations.

  • Familiarity with enterprise collaboration or productivity platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Atlassian, ServiceNow, Google Workspace, or similar environments involving complex integrations and workflows.

  • Experience with SSO, SCIM provisioning, or identity integrations in enterprise environments.

  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as Slack Workflow Builder, Zapier, or custom workflow integrations.

  • Experience reviewing custom integrations and collaborating with engineering teams to validate migration readiness.

  • Previous experience supporting business-critical systems where failures in workflows or integrations may have operational impact.
