The contractor will support a frontend platform team whose libraries and repositories serve as critical dependencies for other teams and product surfaces. The focus is day-to-day maintenance and operational work — dependency upgrades, library deprecations, code freshness, and large-scale change requests — alongside automating repetitive operational tasks to reduce the team's ongoing maintenance burden and improve response times. Given the platform's role as a shared, high-impact dependency, strong attention to detail is essential. The overall objective is to reduce KTLO load so the full-time team can focus on higher-value business initiatives.

  • Handle KTLO and operational maintenance across the team's owned repositories and platforms.

  • Perform routine dependency and framework upgrades, including React/Node upgrades and CORGI compliance work, and execute Large Scale Change campaigns with appropriate engineering oversight.

  • Support platform deprecation efforts — identifying consumers, coordinating migrations, completing required cleanup, and retiring unsupported libraries.

  • Provide monorepo migration support, migrating applicable consumers and workloads into the frontend monorepo (including JSF migrations) and resolving migration-related issues.

  • Improve and automate code freshness, dependency updates, and other repetitive operational processes to continuously propagate dependency updates and reduce manual maintenance.

  • Participate in the team's DFR rotation and assist with code review and incoming operational requests after ramp-up, meeting the team's five-day response expectation (QuAD).

  • Contribute to and participate in architectural design decisions, developing technical approaches and evaluating solutions within areas of responsibility.

Must-Have Skills:

  • JavaScript / Node.js.

  • React.

  • TypeScript.

  • pnpm / npm.

  • Mid-level engineering experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Datadog or equivalent observability and data analytics platforms.

  • GitLab CI or equivalent CI/CD platforms.

  • Working in large-scale monorepos supporting broad product surfaces, including hands-on experience with monorepo tooling such as Turborepo.

  • Executing large-scale code changes across many repositories and team ownership boundaries.

  • Microfrontend architectures and frameworks.

  • End-to-end and visual regression testing, including Cypress and/or Chromatic.

  • React Native and React Native for Web.

  • Experience with frontend platforms or shared libraries that serve as critical dependencies for other teams and product surfaces.

  • Experience with platform migrations, particularly helping teams migrate consumers from one platform or framework to another.

  • Experience automating operational work, improving code freshness, dependency management, and CI/CD processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and operational discipline, with the ability to work independently through repetitive, high-impact maintenance work while recognizing when issues require escalation.
