Some great opportunities don’t present themselves too often. And it is one of such things which you better not to miss if you’re an Engineer who can do the things and fast right from scratch. Sounds like a typical startup thing, right? What’s so unique then? Well, this is a startup which already have very decent money round - $25M, and more to come. AND they are looking to rewrite their backend from scratch now. AND their Head of Engineering is a top class boss - smart, young, energetic, appreciating top engineers and giving them a lot of freedom if they know what they’re doing.

So, to summarize:

  • Backend from scratch

  • Startup with decent money in their bank - not just dreamers

  • Cool Head of Engineering

  • Small team, little overhead

  • The team will be growing eventually and so will you

  • Noone to blame

  • Deep production-level experience with Python/Django and React.

  • Comfort with Typescript.

  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of relational data modeling and design (we use PostgreSQL, but our use cases are expanding beyond that).

  • Ability to lead major architecture initiatives from the ground up, balancing for speed while designing for scale

  • Believer in automated testing, continuous integration, high code quality.

  • Interest and experience in coaching/mentoring junior engineers.

  • Collaborative approach to building software with engineers and cross-functional partners

  • Bonus: Devops/CI/CD experience.
