Guidewheel is building a real-time FactoryOps platform that empowers manufacturers to increase productivity and reduce emissions by connecting to machines through power-based sensors. The platform handles terabytes of time-series data and supports large-scale, cloud-native infrastructure.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll help scale and secure the cloud infrastructure powering Guidewheel’s platform. You’ll work on automating deployments, improving system reliability, and enabling fast, safe delivery across teams — all while building the foundation for a product used by major manufacturers around the world.

  • Design, build, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) to automate and maintain infrastructure components.

  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable smooth, rapid, and reliable deployments.

  • Implement and manage Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm for container orchestration at scale.

  • Improve system visibility and performance using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or GCP-native monitoring tools.

  • Automate routine operations and infrastructure tasks using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go.

  • Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure and compliant, implementing best practices for secrets management, policy as code, and cloud security.

  • Champion GitOps and progressive delivery strategies such as blue-green deployments, canary releases, and feature flag rollouts.

  • Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate DevOps practices across the full lifecycle.

Must Have

  • 7+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineering roles.

  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure at scale.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.

  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm for container orchestration.

  • Proven ability to build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.

  • Solid scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, Datadog).

  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including secrets management and policy-as-code.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with serverless architectures (e.g. Google Cloud Functions).

  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.

  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g. SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) and their impact on cloud infrastructure.

  • Exposure to GitOps workflows and progressive deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, feature flags).

  • Experience integrating with external systems via APIs.
