    As part of the team, you'll work on small teams to develop the products and features that make Kin operate. We're a Ruby on Rails environment with Javascript front-end and PostgreSQL database, and we apply Agile methodologies to our product and software development processes. In your role, you will have the opportunity to work on more complex engineering problems while collaborating with peers in Dev, Product, QA, and other cross-functional teams. As a senior team member, you'll have the opportunity to mentor more junior engineers, and on occasion lead small teams.

  • Responsibilities

    • Write and execute test plans to ensure development outputs meet acceptance criteria, technical specifications, and product goals
    • Document software defects in bug tracking system, monitor bug resolutions, and verify fixed defects
    • Investigate, test, and debug complex insurance related and software issues
    • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with various teams to determine root cause and resolution
    • Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of large and complex projects
    • Identify opportunities for test automation
  • We require

    - 3+ years of software testing experience

    - Background in test strategy and product knowledge in the design of tests

    - Experience with QA techniques, such as black box, white box, and gray box approaches for smoke, regression, functional, user acceptance, and exploratory testing

    - Experience using Git or other source code management tools

    - Experience with deployments, CI/CD tools, and comfortable with database migrations and API testing

    - Experience within the P&C insurance industry a plus

    - Test automation experience needed with frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber or Capybara
