Ruby on Rails Engineer

We're looking for software engineers who can help us to strengthen a team for our new client, Dentsply Sirona - one of the world's biggest dental equipment manufacturers and dental consumables producers. You will be working on the development and enhancement of Dentsply's digital treatment planning platform.

As a Software Developer, your role is to support our web development team to build highly scalable backend systems, also paying attention to the frontend part.

Keep the code base up-to-date with the latest versions of Ruby and Rails

Harden the backend in security matters

Evaluate and integrate new technologies

Refactor legacy code

Write unit, integration, and system tests

Identify potential risks, track and fix defects

Document your code and communicate solutions

Ensure that the software meets high-quality standards

Collaborate closely with the Test and DevOps teams

3-5 years SW development experience with Ruby/Rails and (nice to have) JavaScript

Sound knowledge of web technologies like HTML, CSS

Solid knowledge of web protocols HTTP, WebSockets, OAuth, SAML

Experience with relational database systems, preferable PostgreSQL

Familiar with the principles of OWASP

Critical thinking and analytical skills

Great attention to detail

Ability troubleshoot errors

Experience with version control systems, preferable Git

Experience with bug/issues tracking tools

Experience with agile/scrum methodologies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Very good written and spoken English and optional German skills

Nice to have:

Experience with Bootstrap, JQuery

Experience with Angular, VUE or React
